Where do you work?

I’m based in Skagit Valley, Washington. I love working in the Pacific Northwest. The evergreens and cascades inspires and lends itself to naturally beautiful photos. Photoshoots in Skagit Valley, Whidbey Island, the San Juan Islands and the Olympic Peninsula are convenient for me. I love to travel, so if you are outside this region please don’t hesitate to get in contact. Let’s work something out.

How long do photoshoots take?

Weddings should be discussed together to determine time frame.

Family, portrait, and engagement sessions last between two and three hours. If you have a concept for your shoot that may take longer than two hours I’d be happy to accommodate you. Let’s talk.

Mini shoots - 60 to 120 minutes

Full shoots - Three to Four hours

What is the difference between a mini and full shoot?

Mini shoot:  short and sweet; 60 minutes to two hours. Mini shoots can be used to showcase a new engagement, family, senior or just refresh your current photos. Images delivered via email in an online, downloadable gallery. $500 single, $600 family + engagements.

Full shoot: Three to four hours. You’ll receive edited images delivered via email on an online, downloadable gallery. $600 single, $700 family + engagements.

*Prices may vary depending on location and number of people in your party.

How long does it usually take to receive photos?

I do my best to get photos to you in a timely fashion. While not photographing portraits I am working my second job or taking care of my pets. I know you’re excited to see the finished product! Turn around time is 6-8 weeks for weddings, less for senior portraits/family photo shoots.

How much do you retouch?

I like to brush over the image with my style. Cosmetically I do very minimal touch up, never taking away from what makes you, you. I will usually take out the obvious blemishes (unless otherwise noted), and if needed, soften the skin lightly. There will be an opportunity for us to view raw images and discuss them. Together, we can determine which images show your best self, or the ideal situation for the family or group shot.

When is payment due?

Payment for senior, family and engagement shoots are due the time of the shoot. Checks or cash are welcome.

For wedding experiences, there is a $700 non-refundable security deposit the day we sign an agreement to work together. Deposit will be deducted from standing amount owed. Balance is due one month prior to the wedding date.

What should I wear?

If you ask me, anything goes! But solid colors, with little to no pattern, tend to work well for photoshoots. That being said, I also want you to feel comfortable. So please, wear something that brings you confidence and makes you feel your best and if wearing something groovy and fun makes you feel good, well, be my guest. Please reach out with wardrobe questions prior to your shoot.

What kind of camera is used?

I use a full frame DSLR for weddings and portrait shoots. I like to use lenses with a low aperture to capture details, moodiness and depth. I always shoot on manual, so I can capture the image as I picture it, with the given the light and surroundings. I also love to shoot on film, and a lot of my work is inspired by it.
